These terms are an agreement between you and Huhu Inc. ("Huhu", "we", "us"), the developer of Get Ready, based in California, USA. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you got the app from Apple's App Store, the "App Store" section below is also part of this agreement.
Get Ready is a contraction timer and hospital-bag checklist for late pregnancy and labor: a start/stop timer that logs each contraction's timing and length, a labor-alert threshold you choose (e.g. "5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, for 1 hour") that gives you an in-app notice when your recent pattern matches it, a fetal-movement ("kick count") timer, a due-date countdown, an editable hospital-bag checklist, a who-to-call contacts list that dials straight from the app, and an optional feature to share your live contraction status with a partner in your family. For feeding, sleep, diaper, and growth tracking, see Early Days by Huhu, a separate Huhu app that shares the same account and family.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. The app has no guest mode — everyone who uses it creates an account.
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Get Ready on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as the App Store rules allow, for your own non-commercial use. Don't copy, resell, or redistribute the app, and don't reverse-engineer it except where the law says we can't stop you.
GET READY IS A TIMER AND A CHECKLIST. IT IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE, DOES NOT DIAGNOSE LABOR OR ANY OTHER CONDITION, AND IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL ADVICE. This is the same standing disclaimer already shown in the app itself: Settings reads "Get Ready is a timer and checklist, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose labor. Always follow the guidance your provider gave you, and contact them with any concerns."; the contraction timer reads "A timer, not medical advice."; and the kick counter reads "Not medical advice — call your provider if worried." These terms make the same promise legally binding.
Your due date, contraction and kick history, labor-alert threshold, who-to-call contacts, and hospital-bag checklist belong to you. You give us the limited license needed to store, process, and — only when you turn on partner live-sharing — relay your contraction status to your family and their devices; that's the whole purpose, and nothing more. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter (the labor-alert threshold and any pattern notice depend entirely on it). Deletion and editing controls are in the app. This data is pregnancy and labor health information — see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for the full, dedicated breakdown of what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
Keep your account secure. If you turn on partner live-sharing, understand that anyone signed into your family's account can see your live contraction status while it's on — only share your account with people you trust with that information. Enter your who-to-call contacts and due date accurately; the app relies on exactly what you type. Use the app lawfully and don't abuse or overload the service.
The app is provided free of charge today. We work hard to keep it reliable, but — and this is the legally operative part, so it's in capitals:
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, THAT THE TIMER WILL RECORD EVERY CONTRACTION, OR THAT PARTNER LIVE-SHARING, NOTIFICATIONS, OR THE LABOR-ALERT NOTICE WILL ALWAYS WORK OR ARRIVE.
Some places don't allow some of these exclusions, so parts may not apply to you. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features; we'll be decent about it.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Huhu will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months and US $50.
Two honest carve-outs: nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for our fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited (some jurisdictions do not allow limits on certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you). And nothing in these terms takes away consumer rights the law gives you that can't be waived by contract.
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or break these terms.
We may update these terms; if we make material changes we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. Using the app after changes take effect means you accept them. If you don't accept them, stop using the app and delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction — except that either of us can use small claims court where you live if the claim qualifies, and nothing here takes away protections the consumer-protection law of your home jurisdiction gives you that can't be waived. Before filing anything, contact us — most issues can be fixed by email: app_support@meethuhu.com. There is no arbitration clause in these terms; if we ever add one, that would be a material change under Section 10.
Because you get Get Ready through Apple's App Store, Apple requires this agreement to include the following — all of it is true and we state it plainly:
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms (plus the Privacy Policy) are the whole agreement between us about the app. If we don't enforce a term at some point, we haven't waived it. You may not assign this agreement; we may assign it to a successor who takes over the app — with your data protected as the Privacy Policy promises.
